Doubt it, as it ran 19 years ago. I think Tornado's frames were just about laid.

Oh boy! did it, well the guy means....

pathfinder tours have the times as far as warrington, the time of arrival and departure from Carlisle are referred to in 'the royal scot' thread. here:-

    http://railways.national-preservation.com/showthread.php?t=19253

there's a lot of interest in that tour because 46233 is soon out of ticket and the driver and fireman are to retire, so it may be the engines last run, at least over shap, till a full 10 year overhaul is done.

I prefer tornado as it wont be back for some time , 46233 has been here regularly, we've only just got tornado, twice last weekend but we waited a long time to see it.

Has anyone any idea where Tornado is going after it leaves the train at Preston? Route and any times would be nice.
    Regards,
    john

why Ralph, you'll be on your way up the WCML, or are you hoping for a text when it leaves Hellifield, or Ribblehead so you can nip out of the pub when it arrives.

According to A1 trust newsletter Tornado will be at Barrow Hill from 12th October. Probably due to move from York. After return to Hellifield scrapped on 10th, it may be she goes to Barrow Hill from Preston after tour?
    Guess work.
    Regards,
    John.

Tornado brought the sunshine to Hellifield this morning, here are a couple of shots of her leaving. If anyone reading this was on the platform, I hope you got a shot as from where I was stood you seemed to be lost in the steam!

Tornado + POB dep Preston 2020 to Crewe, following its train with 66152 to Worcester.

We had a scintillating run from Carlisle to Harrison's Sidings, where Tornado slipped and then trod hard (single yellow) on the heels of the Tesco Express (66422) until it was looped at Tebay.

Hope everybody behind 6233 had as good a day as we did with the newcomer!

Photos follow in a couple of days. For once there was little competition for windows, so I am now in urgent need of a scrub!

    Cheers

    AN
