It's the return of our summer enthusiast event following its succesful resurrection in 2014.

This year we are restricted to the CVR section for reasons that will become clear in the following weeks, however in the mean time I'd like to start drumming up support for one part of the event.

Following on from the support members have shown the railway in recent years (biggest being acting as ticketing stewards for Cauldon Lowe Re-Opening in 2010) we've agreed to run a Nat-Pres Real Ale Train on the Saturday night to help celebrate 10 Years since the forum was first concepted.

Three return trips will be on offer, with the first departure being 7.30pm from Cheddleton. Haulage will be by our recently restored TKh no. 2944 "Hotspur" and the evening will include the loco's first solo non-stop run between Froghall & Leek Brook, for all previous non-stop runs have seen a 33 included. A selection of locally brewed ales will be available onboard, so we hope to meet some of you onboard this at least if not over the course of the weekend.

Members of N-P Forum team are looking to man the bar themselves so that members of the forum can meet them in person, however we are still looking for a couple of willing volunteers to help for just part of either day so that the mods can look round the railway as well. Any interested person(s) please pm me.

Further details of the event to be released over the coming weeks, but the public timetable minus loco diagrams are now online. Rostered locos will include 33102 and 2944 operating services and our Janus shunter "Roger" providing Driver For A Fiver out of Cheddleton Bay. If repairs are completed to 33021 then she will also find her way into the party, and I am currently negotiating for a guest loco to appear as well. However until I have a signed hire agreement I wont be publicising what it is until then, as I don't want to build hopes up just incase things change.

Sadly I will not be able to offer my services as a barman on either date as that weekend is already double booked.

@Sidmouth has kindly offered to run an Evening Photography Charter through his 30742 Charters.

So on Friday 26th June, from 18:30 onwards an evening photography session will commence centring around Cheddleton with the restored Knotty Train performing a series of departure and entrance shots with the surviving NSR Building providing the perfect backdrop.

Whilst we have not announced the locomotive yet, I do now have the paperwork to hand and hope to be able to publicise the locomotive by the end of the week. However I can confirm the loco will be facing SOUTH (towards Froghall) which will be the first instance of such since 5199 visit in 2009!

After a few runpasts have been performed, we will then pose the set around the station / signal box / yard as the sunsets at roughly 8pm this time of year. We will then finish with the full set posed in the platform and the station floodlit for some night time shots.

If anyone is interested please contact Martin. Price is TBC, finish time will be roughly 22:30. Depending upon other things going on we may also be able to head North to Leek Brook for shots with the restored signal box there and exit shots from Cheddleton Tunnel for an hour or so too. All will be confirmed within the next week or so. :)

Timetable will be updated accordingly shortly. As said in the news item, the only chance for the public to travel behind her will be Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June. There are Shareholder Specials planned too (letters in the post to those concerned), and there is also the Friday Evening Photography Shoot with 30742 Charters. Interested please contact @Sidmouth asap so we can confirm this is on.

Remember the loco will face SOUTH, so new photo opps particularly for the evening shoot. A couple of runpasts/departure shots will also be arranged before the 8pm sunset, which if we get the same weather as we did for last year's Charter you're in for some cracking results.

    Cheers

Just a bump for this forthcoming weekend. Bellerophon should be arriving either tomorrow afternoon / Thursday morning, unfortunately the low loader has overrun a job in Devon!

Coaches will follow on Thursday, sets to be shunted Thursday and then we are all go for Friday. Anybody wanting to join us for the Friday shoot get in touch, as places are still available.

Had a very enjoyable few hours on my way back from Tyseley this afternoon. Lovely run onboard the Knotty train and nice walk along the canal. Will upload more pictures later this week, but my video can be viewed below (unfortunately I ran out of battery half way through my visit).

Good to hear of another happy customer. Had many positive comments so far, which is very pleasing. Now to look at ways of improving for 2016...
