D1566/47449 Llangollen Railway Running Day 9th May CANCELLED

    I'm sorry to have to advise that we have had to cancel next Saturday's (9th May) running day at the Llangollen Railway with Class 47/4 No D1566. Unfortunately we do not have a driver available. The Group is very sorry to have to disappoint those who had planned to attend and I can assure you all avenues were exhausted before having to pull the plug.

    37240's trips on the 30th May are still planned to go ahead, but are subject to repairs to the locos heat exchanger, which has failed following winter frost damage. A replacement is currently being sought. If repairs cannot be completed in time, D1566 will deputise. I appreciate that this may not please the EE fans who are planning to attend on the 30th May, so I will endeavour to communicate a traction change as soon as possible. It may be a bit close to the wire before we know, so please keep an eye on our website and on here for updates.
