Last week I was at the former RNAS Daedalus at Lee-on-the-Solent for a Neil Cave photographic event. The two day event was held to coincide with some of the D-Day events that were occurring.
Day one had a lot of aircraft such as Dakotas x8, Spitfires x 2, a P51 Mustang and various others either on the ground or in the air. We even had the extra attraction of some very nice young ladies (The Three Belles) playing the part of air hostesses as some of the Dakotas were in air line colours.
Day two saw American paratroopers preparing themselves for a parachute jump over Normandy from the Dakotas and we had the opportunity to mix with them while they prepared themselves.
A unique event primarily marking the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
My photos from the event can be found here for Tuesday http://paulgildersleve.smugmug.com/...the03/41619548_QfM28M#!i=3306750630&k=qHZJqrP
    and here for Wednesday http://paulgildersleve.smugmug.com/...the04/41620002_SF28hW#!i=3306795730&k=Bcv2hCG
