According to the latest edition of Heritage Railway. (Issue 182) The railway is to repaint 4 of their BR MK1 coaches in a "more authentic BR-era guise" for enthusiasts photographic charters which will be held in February. The loco: to be used will be Lydham Manor.
The event "The West Country Steam event" will be organised by Neil Cave, a photographic charter organiser

I presume that means the names on some replace with a lion and wheel emblem ?.

Hope it's successful as it would encourage looking at other initiatives outside the peak operating season.

The question is what colour will the 4 Mk1's be in ?
Also isn't the 4 MT standard back next year to replace 7827 ?
Or will 7827 have it's tickect extendeded due to the boiler work it had a couple of years ago ?

Thought 7827 was getting a retube to extend her ticket slightly?

The events as I understand it are sold out . Neil has unfortunately sought and obtained exclusivity on the P&DSR thus precluding any other organiser doing events on the railway despite the fact that both myself and Steam Recreations have been working in the past on setting up events , a two day charter having been cancelled by the boiler issues 7827 experienced and then the rescheduled dates never being finally agreed

There is also some discussion on just how far the repaint is as the suggestion is partial . We'll see what unfolds

4MT is a class of BR loco which 75014 is (4-6-0 with tender) & built at Swindon in 1951.
    I didn't say anywhere it was a tank !!!!!!!
Question is will it be back working on trains next year & may be with these 4Mk1's (what ever BR colour they may be) as well as 7827 ?

Just a thought seeing the problems with the network down there !
Could the DSR not run into Newton Abbott if they locked the points from
Paighton, you would have a single line all the way to Newton Abbott ?
Might help Torbay with a connection to the outside world other than by road !
Believe they could run round in the sideing by race couse ?
Just a thought after beer in pub up here, but just might pop down if it happened.

Not really. Main line trains are running between Newton Abbot, Plymouth and Penzance. <BJ>

Hear the Manor was moving about on the line Monday.
So would think that would start the 2014 season.
