For those that like a Deltic thrash this sounds like a mega one! The tour was originally being hauled by Western Champion, but due to it's engine problem it's been withdrawn for repairs. I think 55002 is a more than adequate replacement.

WCML, Cumbrian Coast, Tyne Valley and ECML return all in one day.

Monday 30th August 2010 'The Western & Eastern Coastal Express
Crewe, Hooton, Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Warrington Bank Quay, Wigan North Western , Preston, Lancaster & Carnforth to Durham or Optional Extra Tour around the Tyne Coast. Outward via the Cumbrian Coast Railway line. Diesel Hauled by Class 55 'Deltic' 55022 'Royal Scots Grey'. This Tour has Seats still available in 1st & Standard Class.

Thundered through Haltwhistle about 1120ish this morning, in lovely sunshine! Great Fun....

(only a small scattering of viewers, and a couple of bods waiting for the service train had a bit of a shock)

Looks like RSG will replace D1015 on "The Western Wales Explorer" on Saturday 18/09/2010 as well.
Be nice to see RSG down this way again :)
