The Health and Safety Executive has been called in to investigate an accident involving a digger which fell off a Cornish railway bridge.

The 30 tonne digger was working on the railway line in St Ives when it toppled over and dropped 15ft (4.5m) onto a footpath below.

The driver managed to get out of the vehicle and was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.

Fire crews were called in at 1130 GMT to help make the area safe.
