Last week,*Alison mentioned*the royal train related material which was going*on display over the weekend*to mark the Royal Wedding. Below are a*few images of the exhibits*that were on*show for visitors to browse – including posters, drawings and*photographs.

Among the drawings were*three from*Wolverton Works for Queen Victoria’s Saloon. This one shows the vehicle in its original form as two separate six-wheeled carriages. It was converted into one vehicle in 1895.

We regulary put on displays of archive material in the Edmondson Room in Search Engine, our research and archive centre – usually in connection with events held in the museum. We had a display of diesel traction related*items for the Class 37 event in October, and an exhibition*of engineering drawings during the Model Railway Weekend in November.

We’ve also put on displays*for a number of visiting*groups, including the*Colonel Stephens Society and the Deltic Preservation Society.

Our next planned display*is for the Flying Scotsman Preview Weekend*on 28-30 May. We will have*a selection*of*4472-related items from our archives, and visitors will hopefully be able to get a good view of the*engine itself on the turntable*as they view*the exhibition in the Edmondson Room.

So if you’re planning a visit to the museum during that weekend,*remember*to pay us a visit in*Search Engine.
