    Hi,

I managed to blag my way into Tyseley Loco works the other day and saw alot of "stuff" going on with 5029 Nunney Castle.

Anyone know what is going on?

Is it being streamlined like 5005 Manorbier Castle?

    That really would be great..................!

We are repainting a few parts of the loco. The 'shoulders' on the firebox were damaged by falling debris/bricks in a tunnel and the smokebox just generally needed redoing. No streamlining i'm afraid! As well as that we have been doing the usual winter stuff, Eg boiler washout etc...

Well, the pallet with steel sheet on just behind the tender. There is some platework on the RHS as well! The valve covers have been removed, smokebox undergoing mods and then there is the non commital answers of the chaps working on it as well! I reckon they are trying to keep stum about something..............

Whether they are, or not (and I don't know), by blagging your way in, as you say you did, and then coming on here and spouting about something that you actually say you think they are keeping quiet will have done nobody any favours and will almost certainly spoil things for anyone else that may have been allowed a look round Tyseley. 0/10 for respecting confidentiality.

I hate it when people wont give u answers and then go around being snooty and revelling in the fact that they know something you dont.

Grow up sunshine there is usually a very good reason why people do not give out information mainly because they get prats like you around.

Try to see the bigger picture.

Not a very bright thing to post considering who views this board.

I've read the post as a very tongue firmly in cheek one witha large amount of baiting of the nat pres masses

I think I would prefer to go with Bens explanation rather than making wild guesses??

LN - I didn't say I knew but would ask a friend (in true Chris Tarrant fashion). Apparently there will be something on the website soon!

Sorry if any of you lot don't like speculation.............................can't please everyone!

I am in agreement with Coalwagon - the bigger picture will come out in the end.

    mmmm!
I imagine the Meanleys will be doubling security measures as we speak. You'll probably find a notice that says "survivors will be prosecuted.

It's already been said in lots of other threads about different engines, that an owner has every right to do what he wishes with his engine.
Be it livery changes or anything else he may decide to do to it.
It may not be to all our tastes. But that's the way it is.

I don't get it, Ben answered the post and as he's a member of the support crew for 5029 he should know what is going on. Why question it ?

Remember that members of support crew aren't always at liberty to divulge what they know on a public forum.
I have had people on here have a go at me for not letting people in on what I know about things at Tyseley.
We may be volunteers but we still have to observe confidentiality.

    Well said ! and supported.
Railway Preservation can be as leaky as the boilers we ride behind sometimes.. which for some of us actually ruins the surprise..
