So after the three DCEs it's goodbye Galatea as far as the south of England is concerned. Engine & coach move back to Southall today:- http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50726/2016/08/25/advanced With 35018 not far off and 70013 back soon, I'd be surprised if this loco will return down here, although this West Coast excursion to Salisbury on 15th Oct http://www.westcoastrailways.co.uk/spirit-of-the-lakes/trips/152-Steam-to-Salisbury.cfm is interestin. It mentions "our steam locomotive", although "our" need not mean "one of the West Coast fleet." Come what may, much as I enjoy Bulleids, it has been good to have a bit of a change down here. The sound of a Jubilee working hard is really quite something.

Galatea gallops up the Byfleet bank, the 33 on the back deader than a dead thing in a cemetery.

Not an unusual shot nor very long, but after this, being the hottest day of the year, it was off to the coast for some dog dipping in the sea and fish and chips for me.
