Due to luckily my scan being ahead of the appointment time at Dorchester Hospital I popped down to Upwey to see the Statesman head back from Weymouth to Crewe.
Not a great diesel fan but has @Matt37401 said he is such a 47 fan:(, not one but two! 47828 leads 47593
Nice to see how pristine NR keep the lineside here. IMG_1284.JPG

The trip on June 3 was a day which the Weymouth line was in meltdown due to signal issues. The Statesman made an unscheduled 12 minute call at Wareham, blocking the disputed foot crossing in the process. Finally on the move 14 late it lost another 60 minutes on the short journey to Weymouth.
Three images of the two 47's working top and tail plus a few of how 10 plus a couple of 47's upsets the Wareham locals by blocking the crossing.
I was surprised it was allowed past the previous signal, as based on some of the SWR delays could have been there a long time blocking the crossing, and it was also a day the Swanage DMU was operating. But I obviously am not a signaler and handn't the full picture

It would have been allowed into Wareham station rather than held at the previous signal to ensure it was at least partially accommodated in a platform. There is a big push at the moment when disruption occurs to try and ensure trains are not trapped between stations if possible, due to a perceived risk of self-evacuation.

Apart from a couple of SWR ECS moves and the Swanage DMU about the only train running west of Southampton today it being an RMT strike day, something that had totally passed me by until I checked RTT to see if it was running on time.
A "short day" by Statesman standards off Shrewsbury at 05:50 and due back at 22:39.
Seen here powering through Holton Heath.
I am sure our Cambridge correspondent will appreciate them. IMG_2332.JPG

I always think "domino" panels look so utterly wrong on two-tone Brush 4s; how much better they'd look with route indicator panels restored.
