Something quite left field for me - aircraft photography!

I can quite safely say that until my visit to Dunsfold, I was an airshow virgin!

It was the prospect of seeing two Lancasters in flight together that made be go on the spur of the moment, and boy am I glad I did! :)

It is also the first time that I've attempted to photograph an aircraft other than on the ground........... so you could say the galleries are "warts and all", as I'm sure I may not have got things quite as I should.......... also if some images look a bit "weird" its not the fault of the photographer or the camera - it was the light, that horrible actinic light that can really make things look odd!

So I hope you enjoy my humble efforts.........

    THE FIGHTERS...................

    THE BOMBERS.........

    THE WHIRLYBIRDS.......

    THE FLYING CIRCUS.......

Great pictures of a great event. My Father & I have been attending this event for a number of years now and this year show was the best one yet. A friend from work went for the first time this year after saying he would go so many times in the past and he said he will definitely go again.
I don't know what they will do to top this year's show for the next event.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked them! :)

As I said, a first time "warts and all" privately, I'm getting nothing but positive comments!

Which day did you go, given the 1pm announcement on Sunday- we're full folks go home - to a 9 mile tailback via the show radio station......... I got there early doors & that's after putting in a shift at the MHR on Saturday......

As to what they'll do next year, I doubt any airshow can surpass this one - there's only going to be on Lanc....... BUT I think most shows may well see an uplift, as the amount of shows that sold out for the first time ever beggars belief.......... I was actually talking to an ex RAF guy whose now a private contractor to them, living in Four Marks (!) and an airshow nut. wondered why the popularity of airshows all of a sudden..... I countered with the repatriation of the two A4's would've produced the determination to make it happen - and boy am I glad they did! :)

We went on Saturday and we arrived just after 9.00. I couldn't believe how quickly we got in on this occasion. We usually have to queue up for ages but we went straight in and parked. However, leaving the show we encountered the usual fiasco that always happens and had to sit in a long queue. This is the only thing that lets this show down; the lack of organization of the allocated stewards. One year they all vanished when it was time to leave and the chaos that followed was unbelievable.
