Earliest "Driver Experience" and "Santa Specials" - 1938?

    At the back of the 1938 guide to the Surrey Border and Camberley Railway (miniature, 10.25" gauge, attempted to provide a commuter service, somewhat incredibly) are some very imaginative fundraising events for the time, including Santa Specials and Driver Experience, by any other name.

    Were any other railways doing these any earlier?

    They also ran camping trips and picnicking specials, with prepared food.
