I recently tried to list an "antique" carriage key, marked LNWR, a company which exsisted between 1846 and 1923. It was taken off eBay by eBay as it breaches the "Government and Transit Uniforms Policy". You are not allowed to list anything that has ever been owned by a transport company. I have argued with them over this, explainging that the LNWR went out of business nearly 80 years ago but they are having none of it. Does this mean that no old timetables are to be sold on there? Or steam locos? I have bought countless railwayana items on eBay. I understand that buying items of current railway company items is a bad thing, people wearing uniforms to get into secure places or staff of companies selling off issue kit, but please!?!? On a happier note, does anybody want to buy an LNWR carriage key? It is marked "L.&N.W.R.Co" and the makers from Warrington is stamped on the other side. PM me if you are interested, £10 all in.
