    It might be interesting to investigate how the poster (?) for the George Bennie Railplane came about, as it shows "1887 The Flying Scotsman" with a locomotive that looks suspiciously like a Royal Scot and not like anything that was running in 1887.

    Confusion between The Royal Scot and The Flying Scotsman trains is not particularly unusual, especially by those with a lesser degree of interest. The oval in the centre of the poster indicates it is "Commemorating ... the George Bennie Railplane" and quotes a 1930 date (whilst also being dated 1929 at the top), both of which post date the introduction of Royal Scot class loco's from 1927.
