Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Diesel Gala 19th/20th September

    We are having a Diesel Gala on the 19th and 20th September. Both the Idridgehay and 1 in 27 incline to Ravenstor will be in operation using a combination of our Home Fleet diesels and DMUs.

    - Class 20 001 (D8001) will be in passenger operation
    - Class 31 414 (D5814) will also be in operation for the first time since it was withdrawn for maintenance nearly two years ago (and the last time before it returns to store again for maintenance)
    - Derby Lightweight M79900 "Iris" will be doing passenger services as well, the sole remaining Derby Lightweight single car DMU and also the oldest First Generation DMU around from 1954.

    This event is now tomorrow! It has come round so fast! The timetable has been altered slightly to enable the Class 20 to have more runs up the 1 in 27 incline. Should sound great with some work to do!
