Efacec awarded E&M contract for Dublin tram network

Portuguese firm Efacec to supply all electromechanical (E&M) for Dublin’s new Luas Cross City light rail line, continuing the company’s relationship with the city’s tram network.

Efacec will design and install energy, signalling and security systems, information systems and all of the equipment for the system’s new central command center as part of the €25 million contract.

Work began on the 6-kilometre line in June 2013.

Once open in 2017, the €368 million project will significantly improve public transport links in the city.
