ELR AUTUMN DIESEL GALA 15-17 Sept 2023

Annual diesel bash is up on the ELR site along with timetables plus the loco's, couple of visitors - 37667, 40012 and 56301. Sunday has steam in the mix.



Highlights include guest locomotives Class 56, 56301 (courtesy of DCR / Class 56 Group) and Class 37, 37667 (courtesy of LSL). Also, there will be opportunities to travel behind Class 40, 40012 “Aureol” which is on long term loan to ELR. Unfortunately, Class 14, D9531 and Class 56, 56006 will be unavailable.

An intensive all-diesel timetable, featuring up to 15 heritage diesel locomotives and 3 DMUs will operate during the event. One daily trip extends past Heywood to Hopwood, and an evening Beer-ex runs on both days for those that wish to maximise their Diesel Bash experience.

Tickets now on-sale. Choose a one or two day rover ticket and ride as often as you like.

Diesel-hauled trains also operate on Sunday, 17th September – normal fares apply.

Taste of first day, Friday, weather behaved itself, no rain but a little gloomy around lunchtime before brightening up. The class 50 was a no show.
