This weekend is an extra special chance to see our small locomotives both steam and diesel working around the railway. We are pleased to annouce the visit of 'Bellerophon' which will be hauling trains between Bury and Ramsbottom.

Furthermore an intense timetable will be operation which will allow you to be able to ride behind all our locomotives, even the smallest.

Join us for this special weekend with an exciting lineup...

    Steam Locomotives:

Visiting Haydock Foundry 0-6-0WT 'Bellerophon' Courtesy of the Foxfield Railway the Vintage Carriages Trust

    Hunslet 0-6-0 'WD132'
    Hunslet 0-6-0 'Swiftsure'
    L & Y 0-6-0 “A” Class
    Peckett 0-4-0 1340 “May”

    Diesel Locomotives:

    Class 03 D2062
Class 08 164 (first passenger runs since overhaul)
    Class 08 13594 (08 479)
Class 09 024 (first passenger runs)
    Class 14 'Ernest' D9531
    Class 14 'Eric' D9537
    Class 73 73001

The event will allow visitors to also enjoy the first runs of two ELR based diesel locomotives that will be returning to service, it is also a rare chance to see some of the railway's rarer locomotives normally resigned to shunting duties.

They'll be able to catch up. It's not like any of those engines are slow!
