What was threatened to become a boring to some, me included, Class 47 bash has blossomed into a much more interesting spread of motive power including a Freightliner Class 70, details on the website including timetables but not all the loco allocations as yet:

Only a few days to go and no loco allocations on the timetable except the goods trains, and one of them is wrongly annotated. Let's hope they appear shortly.

Edit: appeared by Monday evening, now available on ELR website also.

Couldn't make Thursday, Saturday says miserable for the weather, so it was Friday. The weather and light was all over the place, but here are a mixture of motive power and locations:

I assume (wrongly?) the Class 20 was inside the Class 70 for the braking? Wasn't on the timetable and I don't know enough!

I think - and I'm going by what I've read so might be wrong/misinterpreting - that ELR set is dual-braked but there's a reason why a Cl.70 can't couple directly to a Mk1 and needs a barrier vehicle (or loco) of some form in between. Great set of pictures.

The buffers don't extend far enough beyond the light clusters/anti-climb pods, so there's a risk of the corridor connection getting caught between them.
