Steam meets diesel at the end of season enthusiast finale on the ELR. Our visiting Great Western steam engines will return to their home at the end of October so there is just enough time to squeeze in a little send-off party with a Western Region theme weekend.

6430 will appear at the head of autotrain specials throughout the weekend and will travel the full length of the ELR on both days.

    The line-up includes:

    • Ex-GWR Pannier Tank No.6430
    • BR Standard Tank No.80080
    • Class 14 D9537
    • Class 14 D9531
    • Class 35 D7076

Diesel hydraulics will provide a great addition to the line-up as visitors will be able to see the direct replacements for steam engines in the west of England.

Normal fares will apply throughout the weekend.

33's weren't exactly strangers to the WR though were they?

True certainly a bit more closer to the theme than a 73!
