Work has begun either side of Tingle Bridge Lane in readiness for the final push to Cortonwood. Can anyone help with level crossing parts, particularly track inserts?

The track inserts are called Holdfast Panels. New track, sleepers, chairs and fixings have been ordered courtesy of the Paxton trust.
Full barriers and ancilliaries are also sought. Any help or advice gratefully received.

Unlikely to get any second hand Holdfast panels as they have not been around too long.
By which I mean not many of their crossings are likely to be getting replaced yet.
If it was Bomac or Strail panels then the odds might be better.
With Holdfasts the best to go for would be the type that comes in 2 halves split down the centre of the 4 ft a lot easier to put in and take out when required.

This is a view accross Tingle Bridge Lane towards the existing formation from Elsecar. We are hoping to be ready for a publicity photoshoot after Easter by steaming the "Monster" to the road's edge! Anyone want to hazard a guess at the cost of excavating and reinstating the road ?
Actual quote will follow shortly (We hope).
    Del Tilling.

I thought Elsecar were having financial difficulties, so im a little bemused (but very pleased) to see that they're extending - presumably its been sorted out..?

The Paxton Trust have donated the cost of new trackwork and ancilliaries for the road crossing. The Dinting bidders, and everyone else with ears, seem to be nodding approval.
Local support is highly vocal, and the other day a dogwalker donated a tenner, so the signs are good! Apparently, every pound buys an inch of track...so the sign says on full zoom!!

We hope to have the necessary Council permissions in place for work on the carriageway to be possible by midsummer.
Thanks to Ploughman for the advice and thanks for the donations, keep em coming!!

    Level Crossing Update.
New steel gates have been installed either side of Tingle Bridge Lane.
These will remain after the level crossing trackwork is complete, to allow works trains access to the Cortonwood approach.

The level crossing appeal acheived national recognition with a piece in Heritage Railway issue151. Thank you to all who donated via the website as a result. Latest news: we are awaiting a meeting with Barnsley Council to discuss the road closure procedure, and hoping sufficient funds will come in to enable us to cross the road in September as hoped.

ELEPHANT AND CASTLE HEMINGFIELD SPONSORED WALK

The Elephant and Castle are donating the proceeds of their annual fundraising event to the Level Crossing Appeal. The event takes place on 27th August commencing with a sponsored walk of the line departing EandC at 11am. Hemingfield Halt will be open for one day only to return weary walkers to the pub after the walk's conclusion at Elsecar. The afternoon pub garden fete and auction should be fun, and there will be a free buffet for walkers.
