I am informed by Control that the plan for tomorrow is for 30926 to do the Pullman to Battersby - ordinary accommodation is available at the back (front coming back!) of the train; there may even be a refreshment service in the non-dining coach tomorrow night!

    19:45 ex-Grosmont to Battersby, back by 22:35.

Both 30926 and 45428 are planned to make it to Whitby tomorrow.

Q6 plus 31 128 and D5061 are also in traffic.

As the running sheet for the day says, all "Subject to Alteration at Anytime"!

A small number of images from yesterday:

Many thanks indeed for the news and photos.

I have looked at ways to come up and get a run or two behind 30926 when on that working. But it's not in the easiest location to get to from near Maidstone. It probably needs a couple of nights B&B, so makes it quite a trip when I guess there is no certainty of when 30926 will actually be running?

Thanks Richard - I've always thought that would be a fine spot for a shot or two. We were actually a minute or two early off Glaisdale and bang on time at Battersby - we can't leave Glaisdale until the Northern train has reached Battersby at 20:19. I think you may have hit the last chance for those shots as, although there are 3 more Esk Valley Pullmans, the nights will start drawing in.

Bryan - probably best best for trying to catch 30926 is a Gala or if we do Battersby Sundays next Spring, as they tend to be scheduled in advance. The diner also tries to run a bit more sedately, although up the Westerdale area (around where Richard's shots were taken), JRW did take her more up to line speed as there is a good stretch of continuous weld track that enables a bit of a "show" from the front without any danger from the wine or ther the gravy! (Soup is served during the stop at Glaisdale waiting for Northern to clear Battersby).

Thanks for the operational info, Steven. I was assuming similar point-to-point timings as for the runs in March, but have now modified the caption on my picture accordingly.

I'm sure you're right about that being the last chance for those shots this year. I shall have to try and find something closer to Glaisdale if we get another fine Saturday evening.

    Richard
