Express rail link 'may be saved'

Airlines keen to save the non-stop express rail link between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport have said they believe it could escape the axe.

Customers rate Gatwick Express best train company in the country ever

Gatwick Express has beaten all other train companies by being voted the number train operating company (TOC) in the UK for a record fifth time over the past two and a half years.

The independent national passenger survey (NPS) provides a network -wide picture of customers' satisfaction with rail travel. Customer opinion of train services are collected twice a year from a representative sample of passenger journeys. Passengers' overall satisfaction and satisfaction with 31 specific aspects of service are compared.

Gatwick Express Managing Director, David Stretch, said," This latest set of NPS results is a fantastic success for Gatwick Express. To be ranked top in the customer satisfaction category continually for two and a half years is a triumph for our customer service ethos and true recognition of everyone in the Gatwick Express team. I would like thank customers for recognising both our efforts and dedication to getting customer service right, first time, every time.

I am extremely proud of my team's consistently high performance. Whilst this survey measures us against other rail businesses, these results, with 93% satisfaction should be regarded as a phenomenal achievement regardless of business or industry.
