Prague and most other Czech cities have a tradition of decorating public transport vehicles like trams, trolleybuses or regular buses with festive lights for Christmas and the holiday season. This makes for a great, fun touch and looks wonderful once it gets dark after dusk. Aside from lots of little and large lights, the trams and trolleys typically also have specially made vinyls applied for the season.

The vehicles typically always run in this guise from late November until early January until Epiphany on January 6th.

Here is what the festive Prague Xmas trams look like this season and for late 2025.

Interesting. 16 years ago I was in Praha between Christmas and New Year, but don't recall seeing any decorated trams! Although I was only passing through, my actual destination was Dresden.
A few years before that I was on an organised trip to Praha; it included a free day so I contacted the local rep and managed to organise a vintage tram tour around the city, for members of the group, complete with several cases of beer and our own private accordionist. That was rather fun.
Wonderful city. Well overdue a return visit, I think.
