UK Railtours and its predecessors have for many years hired surplus High Speed Trains on Saturdays and taken them on excursions to remote parts of Great Britain. The East Lancashire Railway has promoted excursions from its metals onto the national network, but never until today has it welcomed a High Speed Train onto its own lines. A short visit to Ramsbottom this bright and breezy afternoon enabled the historic visit to be recorded in images.

Good set for the record, Peter. I would like to have done it being local, but chose the Duchess at Settle and then the KWVLR in full dull and rain to boot. Looks like we should have stayed local with the weather you got.
Deltic and HST passing each other, 30 years ago in everyday service!
