The Foxfield Railway Autumn Gala will be taking place on the 26th and 27th of September 2015.

This year will see road steam appearing alongside the railway and feature traction engines, steam rollers and steam lorries, some of which will be used in cameo scenes at Foxfield Colliery opening up new photo opportunities.

On the railway side it will feature 5 locomotives from the home fleet and include demonstration freight trains and an intensive passenger service using the standard Mk1 rake and the Knotty Heritage coaches.

As usual there will be real ales in the station bar at Caverswall Road, hot and cold food in the buffet and light refreshments at the Colliery.

Sounds good but I'm away with the other half that weekend and she wants Yorkshire, not Staffordshire. :(

The first departure from Caverswall Road will be at 9.15 am and will be a line freight. The first passenger departure will be the Mk1 set at 10am.

    The confirmed loco roster is: 0-6-0WT Bellerophon, 0-4-0ST Beyer Peacock 1827, 0-4-0ST Bagnall 2842, 0-6-0ST Whiston, 0-4-0CT Dubs, 0-6-0DM Wolstanton No.3

Between 10am and 10.30am the Dubs crane tank will be lifting a load onto a road trailer at Caverswall Road which will then be taken to the colliery by a road locomotive. Dubs will travel to the colliery light engine and will meet the traction engine and trailer there to lift the load off at approximately 11.30am. There will then be a couple of hours at the colliery before the load is lifted onto the road trailer again and returned to Caverswall Road where Dubs will once again lift the load off the trailer.

In between this there will b the usual coal trains on Foxfield Bank and a regular passenger service between Caverswall Road and Dilhorne Park alternating between the Mk1 set and the Knotty Heritage Train.
