Foxfield Railway - Another chance to ride behind the Jinty this weekend!

47406 which came to the line for our Autumn Steam Gala will be in steam again this weekend for all those who missed riding behind it at the gala. Normal fares will apply.

Stoke steam shed was once a hive of activity tasked with supplying steam locomotives for rural passenger trains working out towards the moorlands or for heavy freight trains from the nearby Shelton Steel Works. Now, all that is left are memories of what was a mecca for any enthusiast.

We will be taking the opportunity to remember some of the steam based at the Stoke Shed by using the visiting steam engine at Foxfield, the Jinty to take on the guises of some of its sisters.

The day will also provide the opportunity for former Stoke Shed drivers, fireman and fitters to be reunited with one of their engines again including one of our drivers who used to be a fitter at Stoke.

All former staff will gain half price entry to the day when stating the time served at the depot.

Timetable C will be in operation with trains at 12:00, 13:30 & 15:00
