Foxfield Railway, 'Cranford' Specials 2nd & 3rd January

Volunteers at the Foxfield Railway at Blythe Bridge are taking on extra duties this Christmas. Although busy with the very popular Santa trains, the screening of Cranford II starring Dame Judy Dench, Jonathan Pryce and others on BBC1 over the Christmas period has led to a demand by visitors to see our historic loco "Bellerophon" which also starred in the production, and also to visit Hanbury Halt where much of the action was filmed.

Consequently the railway will be running special "Cranford" trains hauled by Bellerophon on Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd January.

Marketing Manager Richard Barnett said ‘It was a fabulous experience to be involved with such a high profile production, it will be great to see our old lady in steam once again doing what she was built to do. Despite her great age the trains will be heated, unlike those of the Cranford era!'.
