My membership & lineside pass arrived today, so I'm more looking forward to this event. There will also be a Night Photo session the day before the Gala at Loughborough with all the locomotives lined up outside the shed.

With four eight coupled freight engines it is looking like the best gala ever! Two days in Leicestershire and another lineside pass then. Just hope they are all left to get suitably dirty...

Out of interest when was the last time that the three WD standard 2-8-0s were together in steam? Sometime in the mid 60s on the ER I would think? Probably be the last time for a while with the ROD coming out of service shortly.

One small request. Can that 1970s air braked brake van (the one with yellow sides) be kept on the back of the freight rake out of Lufbra? It would look lovely behind a pair of blue 20s on an MGR working out of Toton but it doesn't fit in with steam.

    See you there Bongo Harry??

All we need now is a Black GWR 2-8-0 to go with it and that would be fanatstic, some how dont think it will happen [-(

I take it there will be fair few charters with all 4 of them, could all four be posed on the tracks at swithland, two passing and two in the loops =P~

Sounds like this might be another good one for the freight enthusiast! Like me!

    Two things though ...

Please can it be arranged so that some engines face north as well as the usual south facing engines?

Can the board of the GC please consider offering day lineside passes for the price, say, of the normal runabout ticket?

    Regards

If the WD was due to go, (and IF!) then there could be several reasons why it is no longer going.

Maybe something to do with the KWVR having a Wine and Dine train out around that Time?
Or the fact that February we have our own gala and maintenece to could be taking place around that time?

Im sure everything will get explained in due time...

I have heard the cost of transport for such a short visit was behind it. The Q6 will be there for a while so it's cost will be spread but I imagine the Dub-Dee will only be there a week or 2 if it went.

    Seems logical...

When we were searching for a second visitor for the October KWVR gala finding an engine was easy, transport just made it not worth doing tho
