131 was steamed today and moved under her own power for the first time since the early sixties. Another triumph for RPSI.....

just to put it in perspective, I think that makes the grand total of Irish main line locos that have steamed in Preservation to just 8 (4,85,90,131,171,184,186,,461)

Pity she won't be bearing her old name "Uranus". What an opportunity for glee thrown away!

Yes I am an active volunteer
    You forgot Lough Erne

I don't think she can authentically carry that name in her current condition.

    yes, 1967 to 1972 so that's 9.... 4,27,85,90,131,171,184,186,,461)

It would be nice to see here restored and in use on branch line somewhere (as suggested on the RPSI website. Presumably this could be the future for 184 and 186 now that there mainiline use seems to be at an end.

Congratulations to all concerned at the RPSI! Not sure I was ever sure it would it happen when I joined the RPSI about 15 years ago - just goes to show!! Lough Erne and/ or number 58 (!) next please (like you haven't got enough to do completing 171 and 4….!) ;)

Pic of the almost completed loco here…
