    GOLDEN ARROW STATESMAN

    Departing From: Birmingham International, Coventry, Rugby, Northampton,Milton Keynes, Leighton Buzzard, Hemel Hempstead
    This is a train with a real ‘wow’ factor offering a circular steam tour of over 200 miles hauled by Southern Railway ‘Battle of Britain’ Pacific 34067 ‘Tangmere’ -complete with the Golden Arrow regalia she used to adorn whilst hauling the famous continental boat train. Features include the journey through the picturesque Garden of England and around the beautiful Kent coast with the beautiful white cliffs towering above the train - the highlight of the day being an afternoon break for sightseeing in historic Canterbury.

    Indeed, no surprise. We can but hope that the other two tours on 16th and 23rd will be able to run. Very disappointing for the passengers. I believe it was a sell-out. However, no great loss for photographers. The weather forecast was pretty dismal for Saturday last time I looked.
