Totally devistated for the Tiverton Canal guys following yesterdays washout. Looks like more work for those who restored 'Chicken Curve'. Hopefully the Canal enthusiasts can prove as resiliant as the railway ones. Good luck to them in their huge job of a rebuild.

The same thing happened a few months back on the western end of the Trent & Mersey Canal, https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=t...v&sa=X&ei=Mu-tUJ7fCYHs0gXSm4DQDg&ved=0CEkQsAQ

The canal runs along the side of the River Weaver valley and a long stretch, some 10 miles, was drained before stops could be put in. It happened quite a long way from the nearest road access, so the first big problem is getting any machinery to the site.
