I know it's a long time ago now, but I have finally got round to posting a few clips of The Great Britain 2:

Part 1 - Penzance to Glasgow
Part 2 - Glasgow to The Kyle then back to York

I've tried to pick one representative shot from each day to give a flavour of that day's action. Three of us worked together on this project and we ended up with around five hours of footage. It was quite a challenge to edit it down to 90 minutes for the DVD, let alone 10 minutes for YouTube.

For the technically minded, the footage was shot on Sony FX1 and Canon XH-A1 HDV 1080i cameras, edited in HDV using Avid Liquid and converted to 720p DivX for posting to YouTube. Clicking the HD icon should get you the full 720-line version. The DVD is normal PAL standard definition that will play on any DVD player.

By the way, how many of you are able to play BluRay discs, either on a Play Station, a computer or a "set-top" player? Would you buy high definition steam train discs if they were available? I'm on the point of buying a BluRay burner for my PC (for archiving, as much as anything) and would be happy to make HD versions of my most recent productions, if there is sufficient interest.
