Hang about a minute - is it just me, or do these gas works fans need some new specs?

Yeah I saw this, although this is all speculation... Let's wait until we have heard some info 'from the horse's mouth'.

True. I heard from a friend that they are working with Crewe and Riley's to get it ready on time. Don't quote me on this though!

    Quote from Ian...

"We believe that the cylinder can be repaired, and the rest of the components either replaced or repaired, and to that effect, repairs are in hand, both at Carnforth and in the works."

This may be a stupid question but what actually happened to 46115?

EDIT: Ok, I've just read what happened to the loco in another forum. All I can say is ouch! I deeply sympathise with the loco owner/WCRC and hope this can be repaired.

Yeah, let's keep this thread for the GB3 Railtour only please. 46115's failure has been covered elsewhere.

    Cheers, Ben

This was before I knew that this subject was covered elsewhere.

    So, back to the GB3...

According to the Nunney Castle website 5029 is now booked to haul the first leg of GBIII on Tuesday 6th April. No mention if the route is to stay the same viz. Salisbury, Westbury, Bath.

More changes to this trip now.

Thu 8th Apr Bristol to Preston is now TBA, 46201 removed from this leg.
Fri 9th Apr Preston to Glasgow also TBA, 46115 removed from this leg.
Wed 14th Apr Edinburgh to Kings Cross, 46115 removed from the first part to York and replaced by 46201.

An earlier post by Steamage could actually be true, but sadly it looks like 46115s repairs are taking longer to sort.
71000 Duke of Gloucester not on mainline till June/July according to their website, so that's not available to cover any legs.
Just going to be a case of wait and see what future developments occur.
