Great Central Railway 50th Anniversary of Closure Gala, 3rd & 4th September 2016

    The modern incarnation of the Great Central Railway mounted a mini gala on the first weekend of September to commemorate the 5oth anniversary of the closure of the route to through traffic. The event featured diesel loco no. D5185 and five members of the GCR's steam fleet, with nos. 45305 and 48624 renumbered as long-lost classmates nos. 44984 and 48095 respectively.
