    A £300million rail link for the central belt has been given the go-ahead after support from MSPs on all sides.

    The Airdrie to Bathgate link will create 1500 jobs and provide a link between North Lanarkshire and West Lothian.

    It is expected to cost £342m at 2010 prices and attract businesses to the area.
