The long-awaited opening of the Abergwili Junction Extension will now take place on Sunday 2nd July. Both "Welsh Guardsman" and "Moorbarrow"will be in steam on this very special occasion.

Come and ride on the fantastic new section of line, over the GWR level crossing through the attractive Gwili valley and past the spectacular Gwili "rapids" to our brand new platform at Abergwili Junction. An experience not to be missed!

More details will be posted in due course,

    Regards

    Matt

My railway; Swanage, finally has achieved its aims thanks to millions of GBP of external finance for the final push.
Hats off to you guys who have transported your railway into a place worth visiting through your own efforts and initiatives.
I sincerely hope that this will enthuse the armchair enthusiast locally to come on down and volunteer, raise your profile and get the south-west of Wales to realise that you are worth investing in.
    Best wishes
    Daddsie

i love this railway because it has succeeded when the odds were all stacked against it. not the busiest part of the world for customers or volunteers. The scenery is simply stunning.

    Update

Train times for "The Carmarthen Express" (see the Gwili thread in Heritage Railways and Centres section) are as follows-

    10 30

    12 05

    1355

    1530

All departures north from Bronwydd Arms

Trains top and tailed with "Welsh Guardsman" (north end) and "Moorbarrow" (South end). Both locos smokebox first.

The 5 car train includes a bar, so come and celebrate this fantastic achievement with us.

    Hope to see you there!

    Regards

    Matt

If I was in Wales rather than Scotland I'd be there. But well done and hope the train does good business. I'm sure the bar will - you have an amazing achievement to celebrate.
