The frame overhaul is being undertaken at Williton, West Somerset,
under contract. This overhaul included needle gunning of the chassis, removal and replacement of on buffer beam,
two central girders and cutting and replacing of part of the underframe.
The 4 end stanchions and four door stanchions will be removed for de rusting. When treated the stanchions will be re-riveted back on.
One of the W irons is out of true and will need attention.
When the rebuild is complete the chassis will be undercoated and top coated in GWR wagon grey.

Many Thanks To West Somerset Restoration, Williton

    1) looking very tired in 2016
2)timber and metal work stripped from the chassis
    3)Bent frame member...to be replaced
    4)Bent buffer beam...to be replaced
    5) This part of the frame has two large holes due to the metal moth....this chunk of frame is to be cut out and new metal welded in to place.
