We thought GWR 175 was a great excuse to get one of our favourite locos GWR Pannier 6430 in for another period of hire from the Llangollen (she visited last year for a weekend). This time she'll be paired up with our 3 Chocolate and Cream Mk1 coaches - 2 of which have been recently repainted.

She'll be running on 14/5th, 21st/22nd and 28-30th August and also on September 4/5th for the popular Bunkfest festival of music, steam and beer. Cross platform interchange with FGW services at Cholsey station.

In addition to running public trains we'll be holding our first ever Photo Charter on Saturday 28th August from 5.30-8.30pm £20 a head - DM me for a booking form.

Hope to see a few of you on the branch - I'll be firing or working in the cafe most day so come and say hi!

Great News! I will certainly pop along, which could tie in nicely for a spin on 1369 at Chinnor.

We had a great first weekend of running with 6430 - lots of well filled trains and happy faces! Still 3 weekends of trains with the Pannier to look forward to - hop to see you on the branch soon!

A few pics are up on our Flickr site - http://www.flickr.com/photos/bunkline

Don't forget there are still places on our first ever photo charter on the evening of Saturday 28th August - details on our website www.cholsey-wallingford-railway.com

Can any one tell me if the fares on the website are for one round trip or are they unlimited trips? The website doesn't say either way.

    Thanks

    Andrew

Usually they are 'Rovers' but if we are really busy we reserve the right to limit the number of trips you make. Judging by the past few weekends it shouldn't be a problem to go for a few rides!

Here are a few videos (not mine) of 6430 in action over the past couple of weekends:

Don't forget we're running all 3 days this weekend - hope to see you on the branch.

As an added attraction, 6024 is passing through Cholsey tomorrow and we'll be holding the first train to see her pass through around 1140.

A very enjoyable few trips behind 6430 today with the added bonus of a return cab ride. Hope 6430's visit this summer has paid off and hopefully you get a steamer sorted for later this year. Many thanks to all at the Cholsey & Wallingford for a very friendly ran well day.

Glad you had a good time DUKE7100. Don't forget it's the last opportunity to ride behind 6430 on the branch this weekend at BunkFest (www.bunkfest.co.uk). As well as steam there will be lots of music and over 40 Real Ales on sale on the Kinecroft (I'll be behind the bar on Saturday night so say hi!).

Here are a few videos of 6430 in action over the last 3 weekends:

There are quite a few pictures on our flickr site - http://www.flickr.com/photos/bunkline
Including one that nearly was - http://www.flickr.com/photos/bunkline/4938089718/ - the King was late so we had to leave and she roared through as 6430 was heading down the bank.
