    Just like to confirm that 4141 has now departed the Great Central Railway and has now arrived at the Llangollen Railway.

    Overhaul I'd of imagine, owner's decision too, the GCR have loco's such as 34039, 46521, Robert, 73156, 3809 and 6990 Witherslack Hall to overhaul before they touch 4141.

    I did mean to ask about this one...
    Passed it as it steamed down the M56 near Helsby on Wednesday afternoon.

    I thought she was for sale?

    Quite a change of heart if the decision of selling changes to overhaul.

    If 4141 was for sale I would be interested, I'm not joking. This is the only locomotive that I can actually remember from my early years on the Kingham Line (probably because it was a common performer and its number was easy for me to remember!) and it was a Cheltenham/Gloucester shedded loco for its entire life. Its natural home is the Glos Warks Railway and I would be interested in going in with others who might wish to buy it. However, if it is being overhauled then I doubt if its for sale.

    I thought a share of it was for sale , the investment to be used to pay for the overhaul

    She's supposed to be in quite good condition so the overhaul shouldn't be too expensive.

    The Llangollen Railway website states;
    "The loco is expected to be operational again in 18months"

    Correct, 4141 is currently sitting on the reception road in the yard at Llangollen. In due course the locomotive will be overhauled by the full time staff in the workshops.

    I'm not sure if there is a newer thread about 4141, if so then due apopogies.

    I've just had a e-mail from a friend who visited the Llangollen Rly today and 4141 was double headed with 44806 on its first outing since its overhaul
