I've recently spoken with staff at Shildon NRM about the departure of Olton Hall. They tell me it is going to be this wee, however they could not tell me the day or time. Has anyone got any information on this. Nothing on the movements page of uksteam. (YET)

    Any info would be appreciated.

Not as far as I know, and I will be the person letting 5972 off site at Shildon. But it's not going this week. All depends on which member of staff you speak to. And if they've spoken to me!

Staff in the shop and some bloke who gave us a look about on the footplate. All said the same. Can you provide any more details as to its departure at all

According to this months Railway Magazine, the loco is due to Work "Scarborough Spa Expresses" and the loco is due to go to York.

Just leave a window wide open and she will probably 'leave' all on her own. Also perhaps she will return as a green livered 4900 Hall Class.

Wasn't she found to be out of gauge for this last summer?

No mention of it on the WCRC website at the moment.

Not saying it couldn't be though, they may be off down Diagon Alley at this very moment looking for a magic regauging potion......

Just out of curiosity, where will the engines be turned on Tuesday? Or will they be running tender first all the way to York?

Yes, it is happening. Lit up the Hall this morning. If all is well, off Shildon 10.44am on Tuesday.
