Perhaps not of huge interest to steam fans is this pair of 37's (401&670) which rumbled through Llandrindod today on a circular tour to Cardiff. It got me thinking though, by this time last year we had had 3 steam excursions along the Heart of Wales line but this year so far none and none booked. This is a stunning line with gradients, spare paths and Llandrindod isn't too bad a place to spend a couple of hours, why the drought?[attachment=1:hpuerccx]Caer beris, 37s @Llandod 2.5.09 003_800x535.jpg[/attachment:hpuerccx]

Pathing for steam is now very difficult as most of the passing loops are out of use until NR get round to repairing the point mechanisms, which apparently they won't be considering until next year.

Thanks for this. What a shame and quite detrimental to the town as well. We were chatting to one of the cafe owners who apparently were looking forward to a lunchtime rush of customers from yesterday's tour. Unfortunately the break at Llandrindod was cut from 70 mins to just 35 mins and all they sold extra was two rushed coffees to railtour customers. This was apparently down to pathing difficulties.
