Heavy snow in Switzerland

    A few days ago heavy snowfalls even in the Swiss lowlands led to a complete whiteout in Zurich with virutally all tram and bus services standing totally idle on Friday January 15th. Here are some photos from the city center:

    That same Friday, the suburban, meter gauge Forchbahn (FB) was the only ride on the tram network on the south side of Zurich, making its way through a very white and icy scene:
