I think your first 6 shots are at Sheffield Park, the next 2 are not the Bluebell (may be the Kent & East Sussex), the next 2 are Didcot, the next one I've no idea and the final 3 shots are back on the Bluebell but the locos shown are P Class not Terriers.

The Bluebell Terriers are "Stepney" (number 55, BR number 32655) and "Fenchurch" (number 72, 672, BR number 32636). DS377 in your pictures is "Stepney" but I don't think it ever really carried that number. I think it was posing as a former classmate that used to be the Brighton Works shunter.

    Hope that helps!

Shots 7 & 8 are definitely KESR. The loco has been shunted right through C%W and is on the road behind Tenterden Town Signal box. I used to be a KESR volunteer. I agree 9 & 10 are Didcot

    The numbering sequence was:

Stepney - LBSCR 55, then LBSCR 655 (and lost her name at the same time), then SR B655, then SR 2655, then BR 32655. On the Bluebell, she was quickly renumbered back to 55 and has carried that ever since, except for odd photo charters and galas when she has masqueraded as classmate DS377, the Brighton Works shunter.

Fenchurch - LBSCR 72, then sold out of service to Newhaven Harbour Co, then bought back to BR as 2636, then BR 32636. She should really have been 2672 / 32672, but when she came back into the SR fold, the SR chose to number her with the lowest available number in the Terrier sequence, rather than the number she would have carried had she stayed in LBSCR ownership. On the Bluebell, she has variously been 72, Newhaven Harbour Co, 32636 and (fictiously) LBSCR 672.

    Locations are:

    http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-vFTQPq2 - Sheffield Park

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-vMw8gPB - Sheffield Park. That's the current engine shed in the background (with teh North London Tank) before the shed wall was built.

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-3N3rGSh - Sheffield Park, inside the running shed

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-t7B6LCL Fenchruch in the loco yard at Sheffield Park

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-L26tTwH - Sheffield Park, that's the south end of the old running shed.

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-ZtJ3t4Q - Sheffield Park in the running shed

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-PsPZpFF - Not a Bluebell Terrier; that is No. 50 "Whitechapel", now on the Spa Valley but previously on the KESR.

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-n9MZSvn - ditto "Whitechapel", I think the location is the KESR at Tenterden but I might be wrong.

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-4rrmdVg - Also not a Bluebell Terrier, this is No. 70 "Poplar", owned by teh KESR and currently running as KESR No 3 "Bodiam". Location looks like Didcot to me.

    http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-g5J3kRN - Ditto No. 70 at Didcot

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-z2xZWRT is old No 78 "Knowle", also now on the KESR. Location looks like Minehead, where it was plinthed for a while outside Butlins.

http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-2mWqtM4 is the Bluebell but isn't a Terrier! It's a Wainwright P class. Numbering sequence would have been SE&CR 323, then SR A323, then SR 1323, then BR 31323. Has run mostly in Bluebell livery and named "Bluebell" on the Bluebell railway (it was the second loco to arrive in 1960, after Stepney) but has also run as SECR 323 in the wartime Austerity livery. Location is Sheffield Park. That's the Adams radial tank in the background.

    http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-Rq24S2X isn't a Terrier either; it's a second P class, 27 (colloquially known as "Primrose", to go with "Bluebell"). Numbering would have been 27 / A27 / 1027 / 31027.

    http://railway-photography.smugmug..../Bluebell-Railway/Bluebell-Terriers/i-58DH52m is Primrose again.

There is a third P class preserved at the Bluebell, SECR 178 sometimes called "Nettle". A fourth is preserved on the KESR (SECR 753)

    Hi Neil

Not a problem. Just a small note on the third photo of "DS377 Brighton Works" - it is of course Stepney just carrying a livery change for photographic purposes, not the genuine DS377 (ex No 35 "Morden"), which was scrapped in 1959. Photo 5 of Fenchurch - should say bought back by SR as 2636, not bought back by BR.

    Thanks Tom,

Ooops not sure why I put BR instead of SR
    anyway
I think I have now clarified the captions
