Hitachi awards IT contract for UK sites

Capgemini UK has been awarded a ‘multi-million’ pound contract to supply its SAP-based IT software across Hitachi Rail Europe’s UK facilities.

The new system will be used at sites across the UK, including at Hitachi’s new IEP train factory in Newton Aycliffe which is currently under construction.

Nobuhiro Otsuka, head of IT at Hitachi Rail Europe, said: “Capgemini has already demonstrated its ability to work effectively with us and to understand our complex and challenging business environment.
