    Hi everyone!

Apologies for the unexplained nature of this question, but I am trying to find out how much a MK1 TSO in rather poor condition is actually worth?

The examples I am looking at are suffering from corrosion to doors/end posts, poor interior, bad external appearance, pretty much a basket case.

Problem is I don't even know what a good one goes for!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Scrap price is going up again, so say 40t x £125/ton should give you a start point ...

Doubt whether it would fetch that much though, you've got to allow for the price of the gas you'd need and the hours involved.although you might offset some of that by stripping and selling off the spares. You'd also wan be certain there's no asbestos left on it 0- small amouts crop up all over the place.

If you are thinking of buying it on the other hand, these vcould be negotiating points!

You could probably pick up a rough one for £1500 - £2000,but you do need to have the know how to repair them.We have 4472 (the coach not the engine!) in Pentrefelin at the moment. This is having all of the lower panels replaced, rotten pillars having new pieces inserted, ditto to floor bearers. All windows removed & overhauled & then a complete paint job.
Then the plywood floor plus the lino has to be renewed. The inside will need all new panelling, the seat ends repolishing & all the seat cushions reupholstering.
The coach will also need lifting & all of the mechanical parts, steam heat, vac system , electrics & plumbing checked over.

Thanks very much for your replies! Really is a great help.

The purpose we'd be using it for would probably result in it going for scrap in any case, plus we wouldn't need any fittings, trim etc as just after a bare shell.

If all you need is a bare shell.
Some other groups may be looking for bits for their projects.
