Hunslet engine company drawings and others sought

Discussion in 'Steam Traction' started by rough-shunter, Oct 12, 2009.

As always im looking for more drawings of Hunslet locos im after
full set of hunslet austerity drawings
and allso the forerunner of the above the 50550 class locos for model engineering projects that are being considered.

i have tried armley mills but they don't seem to know where the drawings are and have spoken to hunslets themselves and they put me back onto the museum.
Help is all i can say

You could try another locomotive company, such as Andrew Barclay, Kilmarnock. They made a couple of Austerities.....

The locomotive records are held at Glasgow University Archive.

If you're through at Embsay at any time, you can always come and crawl over Revenge (HE2414, 50550 class) as it is in the shed and is now in original condition (minus inner firebox and cab!)

I imagine Statfold will hold the archives as they now have the Avonside archives which were originally with Hunslet in Leeds and subsequently at Armley Mills.
