The Severn rail tunnel was closed on Monday after an empty train struck an object on the line.
The incident caused some disruption to trains travelling to Wales, through the West country from London.

A Network Rail spokesman said the tunnel had reopened by 1130GMT after two services had been disrupted.

The 8.15 service from London Paddington to Cardiff and the 8.45 service to Swansea had both been delayed for 45 minutes at the tunnel entrance he said.
