    The D class were shunters (equivalent of our 08 class) but the E and G were essentailly branch line line locos, with the E I suppose equivalent to our Class 14s and the G a special category altogether originally bought for freight traffic on lightl lain freight only brances and later also used in passenger traffic on similar lines still with a passenger service.
